University of Michigan-Flint Office of Graduate Programs Credit Option Program Notes about Admission, Tuition Billing & Grade Reporting
Admission & Enrollment Verification. Within a few days, you should receive a letter from UM-Flint's Director of Graduate Admissions verifying that your Lifelong Learning application has been received and you have been admitted as a Lifelong Learning student by the University. This mailing will also include written guidelines for accessing UM-Flint's Student Information Services (SIS) in the event you wish to utilize it. A little later, after your Drop/Add form has been processed by the University Registrar's Office, you'll receive verification via email confirming the course in which you have been enrolled.
Please note that students can elect a maximum of six credits of UM-Flint Credit Option coursework.
Tuition Billing. The total cost of enrollment in a UM-Flint Credit Option course for the 2007-2008 academic year is $300 per credit hour undertaken. This special rate is available only to individuals enrolled as graduate non-candidates for degree (also called “Lifelong Learning”) in a professional development course offered by one of UM-Flint’s K-12 Partners. Students who have been admitted to a UM-Flint graduate degree program will be billed at the current tuition rate and fees for these courses. Tuition can be paid by check or credit card.
To Pay by Check: make check payable to University of Michigan-Flint; please note your UMID or Social Security Number on the check; mail to Cashier’s Office, University of Michigan-Flint, 261 University Pavilion, Flint MI 48502
To Pay by Credit Card: call the UM-Flint Cashier’s Office at 810-762-3490, between 8:30am-5pm daily (4:30pm on Friday). Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards are accepted. Credit card payments can also be made online by using the Student Information Services (SIS) system; See informational flyer.
Recording of Grades. Grades for Credit Option courses are entered at the end of the semester during which the course is taken. You will not receive a printed grade report; rather, you may view your final grade online at the University’s SIS shortly following the end of the semester in which the course was taken. Official transcripts are available by contacting the Registrar at 810-762-3344 or by following the directions for requesting transcripts at http://www.umflint.edu/registrar.
